All Blue Flame Wellness Therapy & Counselling Services
At Blue Flame Wellness -
We offer in-depth and evidence-based assessments. These assessments are designed to be thorough and adapt to the individual.
Why do we say adapt and individual? Because each of us has a unique combination of experiences, thoughts and feelings that no two assessments or reports are the same.
Our clinicians approach each assessment with care and thoughtfulness, considering the whole person.
The result is a detailed report reflecting this individuality, offering tailored insights, interventions, and recommendations that are meaningful and relevant.
Our goal is to give a level of insight and support that empowers individuals and families with a clear path forward—not just for a possible diagnosis, but for long-term support and success.
We currently offer:
ADHD Assessments: $1750
ASD (Autism Spectrum): Kindly call the practice to discuss this further.
Global Assessments: $3250 - This is a comprehensive assessment that includes Cognitive and Scholastic assessments and also assesses for ADHD / ASD (Autism) and others areas where indicated.
Please click the button below for a detailed description of what is involved in each assessment.
At Blue Flame Wellness -
We understand neurodivergence to be a natural variation in how humans think, feel, learn, and experience the world. In other words, Neurodiversity is the concept that there’s no single "right" way for a brain to work.
It includes Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, Tourette Syndrome and more—not as "disorders," but as different or unique ways of being.
We want to help our community, families and the individual to shift in the way we understand, feel and talk about Neurodivergence.
"Neurodivergent. Neuroproud. Neuroaffirming."
We are not minimising that there are differences between neurodivergent and neurotypical brains. Instead, we are invested and passionate about creating bridges in understanding, communication, relationship, learning, behaviour and connection.
Our Clinicians are well trained, informed and experienced to help you build those bridges. We offer therapy and support to children, teens, adults, parents and families.
Whether someone is newly diagnosed or exploring identity later in life, we’re here to offer compassionate, informed support.
Our approach is respectful, strengths-based, and tailored to each person's unique needs, goals, and preferences.
Our Services Include:
Individual therapy focused on emotional wellbeing, communication, self-awareness, and coping strategies
Coaching and skills support for managing transitions, building independence, and navigating social or work environments
Family or parent coaching to support understanding, communication, and positive relationships at home
Support for co-occurring challenges such as anxiety, executive functioning difficulties, or sensory sensitivities
Goal-focused sessions to promote self-confidence, self-advocacy, and meaningful participation in daily life
Assessments to gain valuable information which is then used to improve understanding, support and successful outcomes.
"Finding Your Way Through Life’s Seasons"
What is Adjustment Difficulties?
It sounds quite official but simply put, Adjustment Disorder / Difficulty is a type of stress-related condition due to unexpected or unpleasant change. It happens when a person has a hard time coping with or adjusting to a major life change, stressful event, or difficult situation. This can include a relationship breakup, job security, moving to a new place, becoming a parent, the loss of a loved one or changes in your health.
Everyone responds to change differently—but when it starts to affect your mood, relationships, work, or daily life, it may be Adjustment Disorder.
What can it affect?
Adjustment Disorder can surface for a person in different ways:
Feeling anxious, sad, or hopeless
Having trouble sleeping or concentrating
Feeling overwhelmed or tearful
Easily frustrated or angered
Withdrawing from social activities or loved ones
Struggling with work, school, or routines
The good news is that Adjustment Disorder is treatable, and support from the right Clinician can help you manage that stress, process emotions, and find healthy strategies to move forward in a healthier manner.
"You can face life’s challenges alone—or with support and proven strategies, get back on track faster."
"Why struggle alone when the right support can help you move forward sooner?"
Everyone feels stressed, anxious or low from time to time. Stress or anxiety can build up quietly too—especially when life is moving fast.
It is when those feelings hang around or start getting in the way of everyday life, that it might be time to talk to someone.
You may notice constant overthinking, trouble sleeping, a lack of motivation, or just not feeling like yourself.
Therapy is a safe space to untangle what’sgoing on and find tools that work for you.
Our Therapists are compassionate, highly trained and very experienced. They will offer you practical support and strategies to help you manage those feelings and find your way back to clarity, calm, full strength and energy.
We work with children, teens, and adults including parents and families—no matter how big or small your challenges may feel.
You deserve support.
Children don’t always have the words, but that doesn’t mean they’re not trying to be heard.
We help children explore big emotions in a safe space through play, creativity, and gentle guidance.
For our young people at Blue Flame Wellness, therapy is a space that belongs to them. Children and Teens feel free to speak, play, laugh, cry, be silly, or let it all out — whatever they need, in their own time and in their own way.
This space is not about parenting, and it’s not a family session — it’s theirs. Parents don’t usually attend therapy with their child, unless it’s requested by the child or thoughtfully discussed with the therapist.
Of course, we welcome communication between parents and
clinicians — but always with the child’s permission, and with the child present. This creates a beautiful, trusting relationship between the Clinician and your little person. It helps your child maintain a sense of power, control and safety over their feelings and they are able to share more openly and truthfully. This in turn gives the Clinician a clearer picture and they are able to adapt their approach to be more helpful and supportive.
Whether it’s school stress, friendship struggles, emotional outbursts or something harder to name—our therapists create a warm, safe space just for them. We offer creative, age-appropriate therapy—from play-based approaches like sand tray therapy for younger kids, to respectful, relatable conversations with teens. Whatever their age, we help kids and teens build emotional resilience, confidence, social skills, and self-awareness.
We understand that parenting a child who is going through big feelings can be a complex and emotional journey of its own. That’s why we warmly encourage parents and families to seek
their own support too — whether through individual or family counselling. We have a team of wonderful therapists who are here to support every part of the family system with care and
respect.
Because your body and mind need to be supported.
Living with chronic pain can affect so much more than just your body. It can affect your mood, sleep, motivation, work, family life, friendships, and self-esteem.
We offer science-based therapy that helps you manage both the physical and emotional sides of chronic pain. This might include understanding the psychology behind pain, reducing stress and
anxiety, improving daily functioning, and helping you reconnect with the way you want to live.
You don’t need to push through it alone. Our team is here to walk alongside you, using gentle, collaborative approaches that respect that ultimately, you know what works for you best.
It’s about finding your way back to each other and having more peace and joy in that space.
Even the strongest relationships hit rough patches. Whether you're feeling disconnected, arguing more, or struggling to communicate, couples counselling can help.
Our therapists can help you and your partner unpack issues safely and with curiosity, not criticism.
We draw from science-based methods like Gottman Therapy, which focuses on what actually makes relationships last—like better communication, practicing healthy conflict, and re-building connection.
Imago Therapy, helps couples understand how their past experiences shape the way they relate and react in the present.
We help couples understand each other, rebuild trust, take practical tools home that improve communication, and find ways forward that honour both people.
It’s not just about talking things out—it’s about learning the tools to grow together.
It’s not about blame—it’s about learning how to connect again.
Let’s press pause on the chaos and build connection again.
Families can be our greatest support—and sometimes our greatest source of stress. If you're feeling stuck in conflict, facing a big life transition, or just not getting along the way you used to, family therapy can help.
Our therapists can work with the whole family to resolve misunderstandings, improve conversations, and create healthier patterns of being with each other.
We support blended families, neurodiverse families, families in crisis, and everything in between. Every voice matters here.
You don’t have to have it all figured out—we’ll help you find your way together.
Build a kinder, healthier relationship with yourself, from the inside out.
Chronic illness can take a toll on how we see and feel in our bodies. This space is about reclaiming connection and compassion for yourself—body, mind, and all.
If body image, food and self-worth are starting to feel tangled, we offer a kind, supportive space to help you unpack it—at your pace, without judgement.
Struggles with body image or eating can be quiet, persistent, and incredibly isolating. Maybe food feels like a source of stress, or your body never feels “good enough.”
We offer respectful, supportive therapy for people dealing with body dissatisfaction, disordered
eating, or mild eating disorders. This is not about judgement, diets, or numbers—it’s about helping you build a better relationship with your body, mind, and self-worth.
Our therapists use a gentle approach that honours the other aspects of your life, and work closely with other health professionals if needed. You’re not alone—and you don’t need to figure it out alone either.
When the habit starts feeling like it’s in control of you.
If you’re finding it hard to stop a behaviour—whether it’s drinking, gambling, gaming, scrolling, or anything else—it doesn’t mean you’re weak. It often means something’s going on under the surface.
We help you explore the why, not just the what. With kindness and practical strategies, therapy can help you get curious about your habits, strengthen self-control, and find healthier ways to
cope.
Change takes courage, but you don’t have to do it on your own.
Just for you.
Whether you’re going through a tough time, feeling stuck, or just wanting to understand yourself better, individual therapy is a place to slow down and explore what’s going on behind the
scenes.
We offer a non-judgemental, supportive space where you can be real. Our psychologists draw on evidence-based tools that can help you understand your emotions, improve relationships, set
goals, and live more in line with what matters to you.
You don’t need to have a diagnosis to benefit from therapy. If something’s feeling off, we’re here.
Parenting ... a beautiful, challenging experience.
When your child is struggling, it’s normal to feel overwhelmed, unsure, or exhausted at times... maybe all three!
That’s where parental guidance sessions can help.
We work with parents and caregivers to unpack challenges at home—whether it’s behavioural issues, emotional meltdowns, sibling rivalry, or navigating neurodiversity—and offer practical
tools to strengthen connection and confidence.
A few good chats with the right therapist can help you feel more grounded, calm, and supported. We’re here for the grown-ups too.
Study stress is real—and so is support.
School and uni can be exciting... but also exhausting. If you’re feeling overwhelmed by deadlines, struggling with motivation, or feeling lost in the pressure to perform, you’re not alone.
We offer therapy and coaching to help students of all ages build resilience, manage stress, stay focused, and feel more confident in their studies. Whether you’re in Year 6, Year 11 or post-grad, we’ve got your back.
This isn’t tutoring—it’s about helping you feel good, work smarter, build friendships, and actually enjoy the journey.
EMDR is a trauma therapy that has a strong evidence base with extensive research over the last 2 decades, especially for PTSD.
EMDR is endorsed around the world, the endorsements include the World Health Organisation (WHO), APA, VA, and NHS.
EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. It’s a type of therapy that helps people heal from difficult or traumatic experiences.
Here’s how it works:
When something really upsetting happens, your brain sometimes doesn’t fully process it the way it normally would. That can leave you a little stuck, like the memory is still very fresh or keeps bothering you.
This can show up in a repeated behaviour or reaction to everyday life or experiences. Maybe your sleep is more disrupted or maybe your emotions are more heightened than they usually are.
In EMDR, you’ll think about that upsetting memory while your therapist helps you move your eyes back and forth—usually by following their fingers or a light. Sometimes, they might use tapping or sounds instead. This back-and-forth movement helps your brain “reprocess” the memory so it’s no longer as upsetting or distressing. You still remember what happened, but it won’t feel so overwhelming anymore.
EMDR INTENSIVE THERAPY
What Are EMDR Intensives?
Discover the Power of Focused Healing
Traditional EMDR therapy offers profound healing - but sometimes, life demands a more accelerated approach. EMDR intensives condense the power of EMDR into concentrated sessions over a few days, allowing for deeper, more rapid processing of traumatic memories and distressing emotions.
Unlike weekly sessions, EMDR intensives provide extended periods of focused therapy, enabling you to achieve significant progress in a shorter timeframe. This format is ideal for those seeking to address specific traumas, overcome persistent emotional challenges, or who simply desire a more efficient path to healing.
EMDR intensives are not just longer sessions, they are a focused and immersive experience designed to accelerate your healing journey.
